Big Sunday run!
13th- Body Balance class @ the gym.
14th February – I ran 1 hour & 45 minutes today!!!!!!!!!!!!! From my front door, ran East past my favorite little park in the 19th, made one lap around it, then continued on to Riquet metro towards the Quai de Seine. Headed up the Quai through the Parc de la Villette, across the bridge, and back down the canal. On Sundays they close the canal St. Martin to traffic so this stretch was wonderfully car-free. I passed the Bataclan where people were lined up for a concert for Haiti, and the remains of the market along the Boulevard Richard Lenoir, all the way to Bastille! I was really ready to stop at this point. Kept checking and checking my watch, but needed to go for another 10 minutes. So I continued along the Boulevard Bourdon to Morland and finally stopped: 1h45. I looped around the other side while walking to Bastille then took the metro home.
Pace was slow and steady most of the way. I stopped twice to walk for minute or so and to do some stretching. Used the Pace method and my calves / ankles sure are hurting as a result. I also feel pain along my right inner thigh – I think I pulled my hip flexors and haven’t quite solved it yet. I will try to work it out with some stretching. Well-earned post-run reward: Another long hot lavender bath and a nap. Lovely. This could become a habit!
